As a leadership coach, trainer, and consultant, I have numerous years of experience leading people and communities in a variety of roles. Deeply committed to assisting leaders with personal and professional growth, I currently coach district level executives, new principals and assistant principals in the Piedmont-Triad and Central Carolina Regions of North Carolina, while mentoring novice and veteran leaders.
Previous leadership experiences include regional superintendent, school support officer, and executive director of two district regions in Guilford County Schools where I coached and supervised K-12 principals. Additionally, I served as the executive director of the Piedmont Triad Leadership Academy (PTLA), where I taught and coached aspiring school leaders through the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. Serving as a high school principal, school counselor, and school social worker earlier in my career sparked a deep interest in leadership development. An Associate Certified Coach credentialed through the International Coaching Federation, I am also an independent certified coach, teacher, and speaker for the John Maxwell Team. I hold two Master of Science degrees in School Administration and Counseling, a BA in Sociology, and a BS in Social Work.
Professional recognitions include: 2011 Wells-Fargo Region 5 Piedmont Triad Regional Principal of the Year for North Carolina; 2010-11 Wells-Fargo Guilford County Schools Principal of the Year; 2009 and 2010 Guilford County Schools Secondary School Principal of the Year; 2009-2010 Robert A. Clendenin Outstanding High School Administrator-Guilford County Schools Council of PTAs; 2012 Edward Fort Leadership Award in honor of the Chancellor Emeritus from North Carolina A & T State University; Randolph County Schools Counselor of the Year in 1997.

Lisa Sonricker Leadership Coach and Consultant
Lisa Sonricker is a seasoned education leader and instructional coach with a background in education, mathematics, and business. Currently serving as a coach and trainer with Inspiring Stars, LLC, she designs and delivers professional development that aligns with individual, school, and district goals. Known for her leadership and coaching skills, she fosters collaborative environments, and engages participants with thought provoking questions, stories, insights, and strategies.
Lisa’s coaching passion is rooted in the belief that student success begins with strong teacher preparation, wellness, collaboration, and professional confidence. A former NCCTM Outstanding Secondary Mathematics Teacher, she has shared her expertise on teacher support at local and national conferences such as the Education Trust and the New Teacher Center. At her core, she is dedicated to ensuring teachers have the tools, coursework, and coaching needed to create a dynamic learning environment where both teachers and their students can excel.
A former high school mathematics teacher in Guilford County Schools, Lisa delivered high growth results while teaching in three different high schools. With her professional growth as a Mission Possible teacher along with her passion to help other teachers succeed, Lisa later joined the district’s GCS-ACT team where she and her team members taught, coached, and prepared lateral entry teachers to become successful, licensed professionals. She later transferred her teaching and training skills to the leadership position of program director to create and launch a new educator preparation program for resident teachers in the Central Carolina Region of North Carolina. The Central Carolina Teaching Initiative (CCTI), a new multi-district regional teacher preparation program, included a robust combination of targeted coursework and personalized one-on-one coaching, providing a clear and effective pathway for new teachers to earn their NC educator license. Lisa joined the Wake County Public School System Human Resources Team to lead the CCTI: Wake-Durham Educator Preparation Program partnership in 2022.
Lisa has successfully coached and trained teachers for the past 13 years. Over her tenure, she has guided more than 500 alternatively licensed teachers toward professional licensure through coaching, training, and strategic assessment support.
Lisa holds two Masters degrees, one in School Administration from High Point University, and the other in Secondary Mathematics Education. She also has a BS degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
